Yet another washout of a day proved to be beneficial in the rainfall department. Although there will still be a deficit after Sunday’s soggy conditions, we managed to pick up over an inch of rain in the city over the last two days, keeping us out of the top 10 driest Septembers list.
Lingering light showers and drizzle will continue through the overnight hours as lows dip into the upper 50s to around 60. Drizzle and a spot shower are possible through Monday morning, but then a few peeks of sun may break through otherwise thick cloud cover, sending temperatures back into the low 70s for highs.
A strong area of high pressure to our northeast will try to prevent a series of low-pressure systems to our south from moving north. Our area will be in between these dueling pressure systems, keeping the region mostly cloudy through Wednesday.
Periods of light showers, mist and drizzle are also possible. Rainfall totals are not likely to amount to much though, and some locations may receive nothing at all.
A cold front will clear everything out by Thursday, making for a nice end to the week, that will see a return to warmer temps. Highs may be pushing 80 by Friday.
